THE TABITHA ORIGINAL PAINTING
THE TABITHA ORIGINAL PAINTING
"The Tabitha" is an original, 11" x 14" mixed media painting on acid-free printmaking paper. This piece was created using a range of materials, including gouache, watercolor, ink, and graphite.
This collection of swimsuits was inspired by the 1963 children’s picture book, “Where the Wild Things Are.” As I painted each one, I thought of Max and how his imagination let him escape into a mystical jungle. I could relate to Max in that painting allows you to escape and dream up anything and everything. Through pattern, I was able to explore this idea.
