It is always a pleasure to receive a commission request for custom artwork — and not uncommon. For example, you may like my style, but the color palette or size of my currently available artwork isn’t quite right, or you like a painting that has sold and would like to capture a similar look in a new work.
Commissioned art is a significant commitment between us. Your art will reflect the unique artist/collector relationship we have and represent a very special story of what inspired you to commission it.
Each year I select a limited number of commissions.
Commission projects have provided SO much creative fuel that largely comes from the opportunity to collaborate and connect with amazing humans like yourselves to bring an idea to life. 9 years in and I still pinch myself that this whole thing can be considered "work." 🙂
If you would like to move forward, please respond to this email to secure your spot and I will have my wonderful assistant, Jennifer Guidry, get back to you! Please note, these slots will be first come, first serve. Commissions will require a year from start to finish.

I feel beyond fortunate for all of you! Dorothy Shain Fine Art would not be where we are today without y'all! Hope to have the chance to work together on something very fun soon! When commissioning artwork, it’s important to recognize that every original painting is unique, and your final commission will be a new painting.Your painting will not be an inch-by-inch recreation of an existing image (though examples are highly recommended to help me understand your style and expectations).
